Super laidback botanical pub wedding in East London

December 29, 2020

Are you ready for the coolest wedding of your life? I don’t think you’re ready. BUT I’M GOING TO SHOW YOU ANYWAY!

Emma and Henry’s East London wedding was just the best day, and as soon as you see the gallery below you’ll see what I mean. From getting ready with Emma at The Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch, to the first (and last) dance at the Singer Tavern the day was the most laidback, authentic day ever, whilst simultaneously filled with incredible, excitable, joyful energy.

Emma wore a stunning Hermione de Paula wedding dress with her trademark personalised embroidered details, including their wedding date and their initials. Perfecting the super chic city bride look, Laura Barrow gave her a bold red lip and Victoria Ralph tousled her blonde bob. There were so many lovely little moments when Emma was getting ready, whether it was between her and her mum or her and Henry, without him even being there, but with gifts he’d prepared!

Their ceremony was held at Hackney Town Hall – and it’s no secret that I love that place and its stunning marble interiors – before we explored Shoreditch for some portraits. We’d taken their super cool engagement pictures in Brixton (super cool is a running theme with these guys as I’m sure you can tell) and we continued the theme of relaxed urban pictures around Old Street. There’s a stunning Camille Walala mural there which we fully took advantage of, as well as a very appropriately clad donut shop too!

After having a bit of a breather taking some light-hearted but big-hearted images, we made our way to the Singer Tavern for their reception. The ladies from Boom Blooms had worked their incredible floral magic on the venue, wiith a gorgeous top table arrangement where fluffy pampas grass, foliage and dusky flowers sprouted from the table around a geometric copper arch. The venue was literally chocful with greenery and texture from the pampas grass, and it looked totally magic. On top of that, the neon light provided a pretty stunning backdrop for some stolen late night captures, after a night of feasting, speeches, and a lot of dancing.

Thank you Emma and Henry for letting me be part of the literal wedding of dreams!

Check out this AMAZING video from This Modern Revelry. This is the best wedding video I’ve ever seen, if you’re thinking about getting your day filmed hire these guys immediately!
