Super Stylish Laidback Margate Wedding

March 1, 2023

The day started in dreamy Margate Suites where Emma and her friends had stayed the night before. Emma is an interiors blogger so she’s the first bride I’ve ever shot who pre-styled all her accessories and keepsakes for me to photograph! Margate Suites is a dream place for getting ready in Margate because it doubles as a location for shoots so you’re spoilt for photo opportunities. Emma’s bouquet (along with the rest of the floral arrangements for the ceremony) were by the awesome Margate local Ultramarine.

Emma travelled by VW campervan to the ceremony which she actually organised with a friend by chance the night before! The ceremony was then in Pierremont Hall. It was super intimate and it was literally Emma and Josh, me, my husband and our 1 year old daughter and a best man, oh and of course George, Emma’s dog who walked her down the aisle to Father John Misty, Chateau Lobby #4. Emma said “We had both written personal vows to one another. He promised to make me tuna pasta bake as often as I wanted for the rest of our lives. Everyone shed a tear as they were super meaningful to us.”

I then went for a stroll with Josh + Emma around Margate, first on the main sands and it’s beautiful boating pool `(where we got those epic shots), we popped into LOVE Cafe where they surprised the couple with some fizz and we took some awesome photos in front of their neon signs. Then back to Margate Suites for some super cool photos on THAT circle bed.

Josh + Emma then walked down to a local pub for a couple of drinks with friends before heading to their reception. Emma poured Josh the worst pint ever and he still drank it, that’s love.

The reception was at one of Josh + Emma’s favourite Margate spots, Bar Nothing. They told them they were coming with about 50 people and arranged Prosecco and pizza for everyone! One of the bride’s friends, Whinnie, arrived with a pavlova and they cut it like a wedding cake. Emma said “After that, I changed into my party dress and we danced all night long before leaving at around 2am, stopping by the kebab shop on the way home. It couldn’t have been more perfect.”
