Ben and Dayala had one of the most emotional and unique wedding days that I can remember. Set in the stunning Morden Hall in South London they totally flipped and changed the traditional format of a wedding to make it exactly what felt right for them. Ben and Day started with a ‘first look’. This was my first time doing one of these and and I felt so privileged to photograph such a crazy intimate moment as the first time the bride and groom see each other before any part of the ceremony starts.
We then went for a walk around the grounds and did some private photos of just the two of them (the weather was a perfect Autumn day) and then they had their civil ceremony but first Dayala had a surprise. Day had been secretly having singing lessons for months building up to singing Ben a song prior to exchanging vows. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!
They then had an loads more guest arrive before their ‘spiritual ceremony’. This was a ceremony for all their friends and family lead by Day’s best friend, it was beautiful and totally customised to them as a couple.
I was so happy to be part of such a personal and special wedding and I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I enjoyed shooting them.
